Brown Sugar Cinnamon Syrup (CasaMinguez Style)

This is my favorite homemade syrup for iced lattes, shaken espressos, and cozy fall drinks. It’s warm, smooth, and tastes like the holidays in a cup.

⭐ Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

⭐ Instructions

  1. Add water, brown sugar, and cinnamon sticks to a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Let simmer for 5–8 minutes, until the syrup thickens slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla + pinch of salt.
  5. Let cool completely before storing.

⭐ Tips & Notes

  • Use whole cinnamon sticks, not ground cinnamon (avoids jelly texture).
  • For a stronger flavor, simmer up to 10–12 minutes.
  • Store in an airtight bottle in the fridge for 1–2 weeks.
  • Amazing in: iced lattes, warm lattes, shaken espresso, cold brew, or chai.

⭐ Tools I Used

  • Funnel
  • Glass bottle
  • Saucepan
  • Cinnamon sticks

⭐ How to Use It

Try it in:

  • Brown sugar iced latte
  • Cinnamon cold brew
  • Warm brown sugar cappuccino
  • Dirty chai latte
  • Hot latte
