Brown Sugar Cinnamon Syrup (CasaMinguez Style)
This is my favorite homemade syrup for iced lattes, shaken espressos, and cozy fall drinks. It’s warm, smooth, and tastes like the holidays in a cup.
⭐ Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt
⭐ Instructions
- Add water, brown sugar, and cinnamon sticks to a small saucepan.
- Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Let simmer for 5–8 minutes, until the syrup thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla + pinch of salt.
- Let cool completely before storing.
⭐ Tips & Notes
- Use whole cinnamon sticks, not ground cinnamon (avoids jelly texture).
- For a stronger flavor, simmer up to 10–12 minutes.
- Store in an airtight bottle in the fridge for 1–2 weeks.
- Amazing in: iced lattes, warm lattes, shaken espresso, cold brew, or chai.
