Brown Sugar Cinnamon Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • Add water, brown sugar, and cinnamon sticks to a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Simmer 5–8 minutes, until the syrup thickens slightly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
  • Let cool before storing.

Notes

  • Whole cinnamon sticks give a smooth, non-gel texture.
  • For stronger flavor, simmer up to 10–12 minutes.
  • Store in a glass bottle in the fridge for 1–2 weeks.
