Vanilla Bean Syrup
A rich, fragrant syrup made with real vanilla beans — silky, aromatic, and perfect for lattes, iced coffees, and homemade espresso drinks.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 whole vanilla bean
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Split the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds.
- Add water, sugar, vanilla bean seeds, and the whole pod to a saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Simmer 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- Strain out the pod if desired (or leave it in the bottle for stronger flavor).
- Cool and store in a glass bottle.
Notes
- Leaving the vanilla bean pod in the bottle deepens the flavor over time.
- Use 1–2 tbsp in lattes depending on sweetness.
- Store refrigerated for 1–2 weeks.
