Vanilla Bean Syrup

A rich, fragrant syrup made with real vanilla beans — silky, aromatic, and perfect for lattes, iced coffees, and homemade espresso drinks.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 whole vanilla bean
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Split the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds.
  2. Add water, sugar, vanilla bean seeds, and the whole pod to a saucepan.
  3. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  4. Simmer 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and salt.
  6. Strain out the pod if desired (or leave it in the bottle for stronger flavor).
  7. Cool and store in a glass bottle.

Notes

  • Leaving the vanilla bean pod in the bottle deepens the flavor over time.
  • Use 1–2 tbsp in lattes depending on sweetness.
  • Store refrigerated for 1–2 weeks.
